Spumanti dell’Etna was born in December 2018 from Francesco Chittari’s spark of inspiration, with a clear mission: to shine a spotlight on the Etna region and its traditional-method sparkling wines through a program of events, tastings, masterclasses and cultural initiatives.
The original idea was simple yet bold: bring Etna’s essence into the heart of the city—making this extraordinary wine heritage more accessible, and sharing the story, identity and sparkle of Etna’s bubbles.
Our project speaks to lovers of beauty and fine things, but it also builds a unified local network. By fostering collaboration among growers and wine professionals, we encourage wineries to invest in sparkling wine production. Etna—already famed for its powerful reds and elegant whites—has everything it needs to become a premier home for top-quality sparkling wines.
The activities we host—events, guided tastings, masterclasses and press tours—mark the first steps of a shared journey, a way to give back value and gratitude to the land. Because living and producing on Etna is, above all, a remarkable opportunity.
In 2022, the Spumanti dell’Etna Association officially took shape, uniting producers, enthusiasts and wine communicators, with the aim of cementing our path forward and championing the unique character of Etna’s sparkling wines.
